Renewal of Vows
You may wish to renew your vows as a celebration of the evolution of your relationship, or as a ceremony for people who were unable to attend your wedding. Vow renewal ceremonies are a marvellous way to deepen your commitment to one another. The ceremony can reflect the journey the couple have made since formally committing to one another. Also like a wedding ceremony, hopes for the future as a couple and as a family can be included. Couples can re-affirm their original vows or re-write new ones. After this ceremony, the couple could receive a commemorative certificate. This could be signed by the same witnesses who were present at the original ceremony or other witnesses could be chosen. As this is not a legally binding ceremony as a marriage, the age of the witnesses does not matter. A Renewal of Vows or Re-Affirmation Ceremony can also include a commemorative certificate. This can be signed by two witnesses at the event. Unlike legal marriage, people of any age even children could be the signatories at this ceremony. A Renewal of Vows ceremony can be formatted similarly to a wedding ceremony or can have a unique structure as chosen by the couple.
Naming Ceremony
A Naming Ceremony is a special way to welcome a child into the family and wider community. It offers the opportunity to announce the names chosen and to give reasons for that selection. As parents you can make a commitment to nurture and support the child into adulthood. It offers the opportunity to choose other adults who are prepared to promise a special supportive relationship with the child as a Godparent/Guardian. Also there is the opportunity to announce and celebrate the blending of children from two families.
For adults, a naming ceremony offers the opportunity to celebrate a rite of passage that is personal to them.
Within the ceremony there is the opportunity to celebrate the occasion with special rituals such as: Gift Giving, Wishing Bowl, Candle Ceremony, Water Blessing, Rose Petal Blessing, Magic Dust, ‘Good Wishes’ Notes, Balloon Release or put together a Time Capsule to be opened at a particular celebration later in their life.
Funeral / Memorial Service
As a celebrant, I will work with you to create a service that is meaningful and reflects your wishes, values and beliefs as you, your family, relatives and friends celebrate the life of your loved one. I can meet with you at a location and time convenient to you. The service will offer an opportunity for family and friends to participate through readings, poems or personal tributes.
